Opotiki Newsletter April 2023

It was great to see a good turnout to the Business Meeting on the 12th of April at Jill’s place, where we voted for who would receive our $10 000 grant. After discussing the finalists we unanimously agreed that the Taekwondo Club would receive the grant. On the 19th of April six of our members ‘presented’ the grant to the winning club at the College gymnasium and the Opotiki News was there to take a group photo.

At a very informal ‘meeting ‘ in the car-park after the above presentation, four of our members decided that we would see whether Jane Baird would make a wreath or bouquet for Quota Opotiki to present at the ANZAC service next week.

We are looking forward to joining Quota Whakatane next Monday the 24th April at Spice Junction restaurant in Whakatane for a combined dinner. Remember that they meet at 6pm. Car-pooling is happening so we hope you have all a ride.

The next Board Meeting will be at Jill’s place on the 3rd of May and the Business Meeting will be on the 10th May. Venue to be advised.

Some of the changeover presentations took place at the April business meeting.
