President’s Message

A big thank you to the club members for the lovely flowers I was given for my birthday last month and the surprise drinks and nibbles at the November meeting. November dinner meeting was held at Fishermans’ Wharf restaurant in Whakatane. (Our Christmas dinner). A very happy evening, lovely food, great company and exchange of gifts. Unfortunately our very reliable photographer had what she has called a “senior moment” and forgot to take any photos.
As usual at this time of year, we have been busy preparing the books for the Book Fest. Again thank you Florence and Winston for the use of your sheds.

Greta Tuite’s Unveiling

Recently the club catered for Greta Tuite’s unveiling. Greta was a valuable club member for many years.
L to R: Jill Theobald, Vera Hustler, Libby Walker, Jules Spence, Florence Craig, Janice Fleming with Braxton, Greta’s great grandson who wore Greta’s Quota badges.

The Book Fest will be open Tuesday 20th December and close Saturday 7th January. Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Hours: 9.30am – 3.00pm

Customers browsing. Right: Our wonderful Book Fest organiser, Florence who works on the books all year and spends most days at the hall during the days of selling.
