District 37 Clubs have been amazing with their various events so far this year. The warmth of all clubs was shown by the generous donations to assist others in our Quota world and the service projects in their local communities.
$2,505 was donated to Quota International of Ba to help provide food and medical supplies during the devastating floods in Fiji.
$1,445 was donated to the NZ Red Cross Bushfire Relief Fund after the horrific fires near clubs in Victoria, Australia.
Celebrations for Quota International’s 90th anniversary on 6th February were bright and innovative and ranged from a mock Quota wedding to anniversary dinners and a High tea’with members dressed in the style of the 1919 era. Wanda Frey Joiner would have been impressed by the way she was honoured as our founder.
Clubs also celebrated Quota Cares Month during March with a variety of special service projects in their local communities. Why do you belong to Quota? What does Quota do? These questions are familiar to members and they give us an opportunity to tell others about our service and friendships. However, as Quota International President Toddy Silkman said in her February message, "the questions are missing one word that we must be sure to include in our answer to capture Quota's 90-year-old legacy and mission – International".
We work together sharing our time, talent and friendship in our local communities. The Club-to-Club World Service programme gives us the chance to make an impact globally. We also get the chance to meet with other Quota members at bi-annual International Conventions and our own South Pacific Area Meeting. We all belong to Quota International, the first international women’s service organisation, and we do make a difference as we give the gift of Quota both locally and globally.
The launching of our new District 37 New Zealand website is an exciting time for all and we are very grateful to everyone involved. Yours in Quota friendship
Pam Ross District 37 Governor Quota International Inc.
