A special day out for the children was the first thought of teacher Michele Yonetani when Quota rang to say that they were donating funds to the school.

Quotarians wanted to help those who are suffering from the effects of the
Christchurch earthquake and although the van Asch School in Sumner was lucky not
to have suffered much damage by the quake, everyone is feeling unsettled by the
constant after shocks.  A special day out for the children and a morning tea for
the staff was decided on as a treat for them all.

Michele Yonetani was a recipient of the Quota South Pacific Area Scholarship for
2010 and attended the International Congress on the Education of the Deaf (ICED) in July this year.  To read about her trip and to learn about the Scholarship go to  www.quotaspas.org.au
