Quota International of WhakataneChangeover nightMonday, 27 April 2009 Feathers, pearls and a tiara complimented the black and white theme for Quota International of Whakatane’s change-over night, held last month at the Ohope Charter Club. The highlights of the evening were Pam Ross, District Governor welcoming five new members, Shirley Bond, Joy Grant, Tracey Ennis, Gerri Ferguson, and Vijaya Lokuketagoda to the club; and Out-going President Wendy Tozer ' passing the tiara’ to in-coming President Lorna Subritzky. 
“Wow’” exclaimed Wendy Tozer, out going president, ‘what a very full and successful year it has been for our Club and what a busy and fulfilling year it has been for me as your President.
As well as our many fundraising projects, as members you all have helped to raise the profile of Quota this year through ‘Pimp my Scooter’, our Joint Service Club Evening as well as the many hours you’ve spent helping and caring for others. Your support, caring and hard work has been phenomenal. It has been a wonderful experience to see so many members contributing their time and talents to our projects – every one of you has made it happen.” 
Quota has donated over $17,000 to various community projects and charities such as Hospice, Plunket, Alzheimer’s and Growing with Grief. Quota has also made smaller donations to a blind child; given clothing vouchers to a needy family; helped sponsor a young cricketer going to camp; supported a young cancer patient; donated to the District 37 Project which was Mobility Dogs this year; as well as various club-to-club and world service projects such as Ba, Fiji who received $1,200 following their disastrous floods, and over $1,200 was sent to the Australian bushfire and flood victims.
Wendy thanked each of her 2008-2009 Board for their endless support over the past year. Her last duty as out-going president was to present the club’s annual awards and pass on her tiara! New members
The Awards were presented to: Hands-on-Service trophy was presented to Karla Hammond for 112 hrs of community service. Total club hands-on-service was over 800 hours of community service. President ' s Rose Bowl is given to a member who has accepted a challenge and stepped out of their comfort zone in service for Quota, this was presented to Nola Lawson for her role as Community Services Director.The 25th Anniversary Trophy, awarded to a member for their outstanding service and leadership in service activities, was awarded to Lyn Irving. The Membership Tray is presented to the member who introduces the most new members to the club, and will be shared this year by Jocelyn Parker, Karla Hammond, Sammy Wilson and Jan France who each introduced a new member this past year.
The Heart of Quota is presented to a member who shares their time, talents and caring Quota spirit freely with others. This year the Quota heart went to Marg Murray.
Perfect Attendance Awards were presented to Lorna Subritzky, Robyn Towersey and Wendy Tozer.
The District 37 Team of Pam Ross, District Governor; Karla Hammond Lt Governor and Kathleen Drummond, District Secretary Treasurer conducted the installation ceremony for the in-coming Board. The new Board for 2009-2010 are: Lorna Subritzky, President; Judy Woods, 1st Vice; Annette Steele, 2nd Vice; Pat Fell, Secretary; Ina Murphy, Treasurer; Jenny Mahoney , Ways and Means; Mary Morgan, Club Services; Sheryl Robinson, Community Services; Sammy Wilson, Membership; Paddy Brough-Rossiter, Social Secretary; and Karla Hammond, Media.
