Both Quota members and residents alike wore 'a bit o' the green' and enjoyed an afternoon dance featuring Johnny Arbuckle on sax.  Many of the residents met their spouses at dances were Johnny was playing, many many years ago  which stirred up allot of wonderful memories.  The residents enjoyed a wine or the true Irish drink, Guinness to the delight of many!   A delicious afternoon tea provided by the Quota members was enjoyed by all.

March is Quota Cares Month and Quota Whakatane has a busy month planned with visits to the rest homes in Whakatane, Ohope and Kawerau.  The Quota Club has also organised a Joint Service Club Meeting to be held on Monday 23 March.  The various Lions, Rotary and Quota clubs in the Eastern Bay have been invited to mix and mingle for the evening with guest speaker Noela Vallis.

Noella is President of the Spinal Cord Society New Zealand.  It is her vision to find a cure for those suffering with spinal injuries. She established the SCSNZ to raise funds to support effective research towards this goal in New Zealand.
