Quota International of Papakura members are proudly holding their 20th annual Antiques Fair this year from Friday 3 July until Sunday 5 July, in the Drury School Hall.
This is a special milestone in the fundraising efforts of QUOTA, which is a very active women’s service organization dedicated to assisting a wide variety of community causes. Internationally and within New Zealand, the primary focus is on helping disadvantaged women and children, with a particular dedication to individuals with hearing impairment.

Thousands of dollars have been donated by Quota to a wide variety of recipients. The major recipients for 2008 were Franklin Speld, HEART (a behaviour modification programme for at risk youth in the Manukau region, based on working with horses), and a scholarship for audiology students completing their Masterate studies.
Judith Collins, our local Member of Parliament, will be opening our 2009 Fair at a special gala night on Friday 3rd July at 7.30p.m. Tickets for this ($15) are available from Country Floral in Roselands, Papakura, or at the door on the night. A great chance to get first look at the beautiful wares on display for sale and purchase.
An added attraction at the Fair for the last two years has been Hamish Walsh, from TV’s Auction House Road show programme. He and his assistant will be available during the weekend to value those special family treasures you have always wondered about. It may turn out to be a Goldie original painting worth thousands, as happened for one family checking out an old sketch given to them! A great result for a cost of $5 per item (maximum 3 items).
Around twenty dealers from all over New Zealand attend every year, many of them because this is their favourite Fair venue. They enjoy the efficient organization by Quota members, the ambiance, the people and the great food provided throughout the weekend in the café run by Quota.
Come along for the experience, the food – and you just might find the very thing you have been looking for! Tickets are $5 at the door of the Drury School Hall for Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July, 10.00a.m. until 4.00p.m.
