District 37 Governor Pam Ross at Dine and Donate Dinner

Members of Auckland Quota celebrated their 10th birthday on September 11th with a special dinner at Barrycourt Motel in Parnell.  We decided that there was no better way to celebrate than to use the occasion to help our community.

The event was named ‘Dine and Donate’ with $20 from each ticket going directly to the Breast Cancer Cure Research Trust. Our aim was to meet the Trust’s challenge to raise $1,000.  We had such wonderful support from friends and fellow Quotarians that we more than doubled that amount with $2,250 being donated to the Trust.

Guests at Dine and Donate Dinner

Dianne McAteer, a Trustee of the Breast Cancer Cure Research Trust spoke to us about their mission and more information on this can be found on their website www.breastcancercure.org.nz.  Liz Mitchell, well known NZ Fashion Designer was the guest speaker and entertained us stories about her life.  Birthday cake

We also had a raffle with 4 prizes.  With ‘pink’ as the theme, Amanda Easterbrook of Wax Branding donated a pink Prada purse from her Loan Me or Own Me range.  Cite Limited donated a pink child's Panton chair, Quota members donated a pink pearl necklace and Nathan Inkpen and AGM Publishing donated 4 magazine subscriptions.

It was a fabulous evening and we are looking forward to next year’s Dine and Donate.
